What To Eat For Breakfast

What To Eat For Breakfast

One of the biggest questions our customers ask is what to eat for breakfast. It seems that, even though it’s called the most important meal of the day, everyone is just as confused on the correct way to fuel the day ahead.

Whether you’re a busy working professional in a rush to get to the office in the morning, or you’re planning an easy day at home, it’s always important to fuel your body right with a hearty nutritious breakfast.

In this article, we’ll be talking about some of the best things you can eat for breakfast, plus some healthy recipe ideas that will keep you on your A-game all morning.

6 Healthy Things to Eat for Breakfast

Eating healthy isn’t difficult when you know the right foods that your body will love. Below you’ll find a list of 6 foods that, when part of a nourishing meal, can help you feel productive and motivated throughout your morning.

1. Eggs
If you’re looking for the best food for breakfast, that’s also extremely flexible, we’d recommend eggs. Eggs are a common option for things to eat for breakfast as they’re perfect when scrambled, boiled, poached, or fried.

Whether you want to make a frittata combining eggs with all your favourite vegetables or prefer something like maple bacon and egg sliders, eggs are an excellent source of protein for your first meal of the day.

2. Green tea
In the mornings, there’s nothing better than getting a warm cup of tea or coffee to get your day started. But, if you want to ease yourself into the day with something a little healthier, a green tea is perfect – plus, you won’t have to worry about that mid-morning crash.

Green tea has half the amount of caffeine that you’d find in your average cup of coffee so, you’ll get the slight caffeine kick you need for a rise in energy, just without the usual jitters.

You can get green tea in plenty of different variations, but we love green tea best when it’s flavoured with things like refreshing mint or sweet honey.

3. Greek Yoghurt
Are you constantly rushing around in the morning, without a few spare moments to whip up some breakfast before running out of the door? One of the easiest things you could try making is a Greek yoghurt bowl.

Full of protein to keep you feeling full, Greek yoghurt is much better than most other yoghurt variations. We’d suggest buying a tub of plain Greek yoghurt and then loading it up with toppings like granola, fresh fruit, or peanut butter – you can even prep it the night before to save on time.

4. Nuts
Although they aren’t the best when eaten alone, nuts are a great addition to any of your usual breakfast recipes if you’re wondering, “What should I eat for breakfast?”

Nuts, like peanuts, almonds, walnuts, or macadamia nuts should already be a staple in your pantry. Keep a few bags of nuts in your pantry and you can sprinkle them on any breakfast you’re making for some added crunch and nutrients.

5. Fruit
Fruit is another great example of what to eat in the morning when you want something light, but that won’t leave you reaching for the snacks after a couple of hours.

A quick fruit platter in the morning will fill your body with the vitamins and nutrients it needs to fuel itself, but you’ll often need to pair it with some other ingredients if you want a substantial meal – like porridge or yoghurt.

6. Oats
The final item on our best food for breakfast list is oats. Full of fiber, iron, magnesium, zinc, and selenium, oats are a versatile breakfast staple that will make you feel full all morning.

You can use oats to make your own granola, a bowl of porridge, or even breakfast flapjacks for a hearty breakfast.

What should I eat for breakfast?

We all have our preferences when it comes to our breakfasts. You may be in favour of something savoury or, maybe you’d prefer something sweeter like a croissant or fruit danish.

Here are some of our favourite recipes that are quick to make, require minimal ingredients, but are seriously satisfying to eat if you’re wondering what to eat in the morning:

1. Chia pudding
If you want a quick and healthy breakfast, chia puddings and other breakfast pots are a great option. You can prepare these the night before by combining chia seeds, milk or yoghurt, and all of your favourite toppings – after all, what’s a healthy breakfast without things like peanut butter, fruit, and granola?

Overnight, the chia seeds will absorb all the moisture and expand, creating a pudding-like texture that lines your stomach for the day ahead.

2. Breakfast sliders
For some people, porridge or yoghurt isn’t substantial enough to help them beat the mid-morning cravings, so something like a breakfast slider is much better. With a combination of carbs and fats, there’s no way that you’ll start to feel peckish after a few hours.

If you’re veggie, go for something like a chickpea and falafel slider or, if you eat fish, a salmon slider is a great option to get in those healthy fats first thing in the morning.

3. Special avocado toast
What’s a healthy breakfast? Something that contains a mixture of carbs, fats, and the vitamins you need to feel your best. All these things can be found in one of the most popular nutrition breakfast options – avocado toast.

If you’re in a rush, you could very easily mash up some avocado, put it on toast, and be done with it. But it’s also fun to be creative and add more nutritious toppings, like a fried egg, feta cheese, pomegranate seeds, or some chili flakes for a subtle spice kick.

The plated sit down package was so delicious! CP looked after dietary needs of my guests, Chef finalised the plating in our kitchen, waiter was excellent and they cleaned up afterwards! It made our experience quite memorable. We host for our stakeholders every year. Always exceptional food. Thank you CP Team!

For corporate or event catering in Sydney, CP offer reliable delivery, excellent presentation, and good dietary flexibility. Pricing sits on the higher end but the quality justifies it. Worth a call.

In a world of generic party platters, this catering is a total game-changer. I recently used them for a gathering and was blown away by the balance of whimsy and high-end culinary execution. The hot cross buns were pillowy and perfectly spiced, but the real showstopper was the presentation—it felt less like a 'delivery' and more like a curated Easter garden on my table. If you want to actually enjoy your own party instead of sweating in the kitchen, this is the gold standard.

Wendy Smith 26/03/2026

Highly recommended - catering ALWAYS on time, even to Sydney CBD, hot insulated packs supplied for hot food. And always high quality. Treats are so special.

Christine Marsden 25/03/2026

Reliable, predictable and on time. You couldn't want more from a caterer. Especially as they also cater for dietary requirements perfectly.

I’ve been to my fair share of office events where the highlight is… leaving early. Not this time. Catering Project Sydney completely raised the bar. The food was next-level—fresh, beautifully presented, and dangerously easy to keep going back for “just one more” (I lost count around five). And the service? Seamless. The team made everything feel effortless, like they’d quietly mastered the art of being everywhere at once without ever being intrusive. If this is office catering now, I suddenly have a lot more enthusiasm for work events.

We had a school reunion event and the catering Project boxes were perfect! We were able to put them out straight on the table without having to transfer them onto to our own platters, which made it so easy and they looked and tasted beautiful

Delicious and well-presented food, and they have many options to choose from. The only issue is that they brought our order a little over an hour early. Since we work on a university campus, we were on the opposite side of campus and had to stop working early to get to the location of our meeting. Better early than late, though. Would recommend to anyone.

Pickle Patricia 14/03/2026

Food was absolutely delicious, service and delivery was great. Only thing important to note is the cost is huge for the amount of food you get. $600 for two sandwich platters, one kids ham and cheese platter, sushi and fruit platter. The quantity in each platter is quite small for what you pay. Just something to note if you wish to order!

Julian Lonsdale 17/08/2025

Catering Project is outstanding! Their service is super reliable, friendly, and professional. The team goes above and beyond to make every event seamless and help with getting things right and done at times with a vety short turn around time! Their catering options are excellent - delicious, beautifully presented, and perfectly tailored. I couldn’t recommend them more highly. Thanks Bianca!
